Could Derek Carr be the Oakland Raiders quarterback of the future?

We’ve heard for weeks that the Raiders brass liked Carr, but we’ve also heard reports that the team plans to avoid drafting a quarterback – at least in the early rounds. Smokescreens or not, according to the Fresno Bee, the Raiders reportedly have a ‘massive crush’ on the Fresno State signal caller – though would prefer to trade down if they were to select him in the top ten.

"So how can Derek Carr still become a Raider? I hear the Raiders have a massive crush on the former Fresno State quarterback, but not a No. 5 overall pick sort of crush. They’re more inclined to trade down and take Carr later, which means the Vikings would have to pass on Carr at No. 8. All Schaub means is the Raiders don’t have to take Carr or any quarterback fifth; he buys them time to groom whoever is next."

It’s a little odd of a report suggesting the front office has a ‘massive crush’ on Carr but then hints they may not select him given the addition of Matt Schaub.

Regardless, it appears as if Carr is on the Raiders radar.
