49ers are ‘very interested’ in DeSean Jackson
By Mike Dyce
The Philadelphia Eagles want no part of wide receiver DeSean Jackson, and while they’re trying to trade him they might be forced to release him. If he does get released, Pro Football Talk reports that the San Francisco 49ers are very interested.
From Pro Football Talk:
"The latest tidbits from Orlando is that the 49ers are very interested, despite an on-the-record denial — and that the Seahawks, while having no interest if the price tag is at or close to $10.5 million for 2014, would be interested at a significantly lower cost."
The denial Pro Football Talk refers to is comments made by 49ers general manager Trent Baalke.
“Right now, he’s under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles,” Baalke told CSN Bay Area on Sunday. “We’ve not made any contact with the Eagles relative to a trade for DeSean Jackson.”
As for the rumors that the 49ers were among the teams to call about Jackson Baalke said: “As of this moment, those reports are totally misleading and false.”
