With the quarterback dominoes beginning to fall, it appears that Mark Sanchez could be one of the next men in line to find a new job. As soon as Sanchez became available, the St. Louis Rams were considered a potential suitor and now the team’s head coach, Jeff Fisher, confirms that there is interest.

“I’d say that there is interest. I can’t say how much. But there certainly would be interest,” Fisher told Jim Corbett of USA Today. “I don’t have a backup with experience on the roster right now.”

One of the biggest reasons that the Rams would make sense is because of his relationship with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who helped guide Sanchez during the most productive years of his career.

“Brian had a good relationship with Mark,” Fisher said. “He’s just learning. He’s been to the AFC Championship game a couple of times, so he’s been there.”

With quarterback Sam Bradford coming off of a torn ACL, it would be wise for the Rams to add an experienced back up who could step in as the starter if Bradford would go down with another injury.
