The NFL is doing their typical anti-fun thing again. NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino told the “Dan Patrick Show” on Tuesday that dunking over the crossbar will be penalized.

The basis for the rule change is using the ball as a prop, which has previously been outlawed.

“We grandfathered in some, the Lambeau Leap and things like that. But dunking will come out,” Blandino said, via NFL.com. “Using the ball as a prop or any object as a prop, whether that’s the goal post, the crossbar, that will come out and that will be a foul next season.”

A lot of people think this was directed at New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham who dunked on the cross bar and forced crews to level the goalposts out as a result.

Graham seems committed to continuing to dunk, at least according to a tweet he sent out.

The tweet has been deleted, so here is a screen shot because the picture included was awesome.
