The Denver Broncos are expected to extend the contract of Von Miller throughout he 2015 season by means of picking up his fifth year rookie option. According to the Denver Post, the team hasn’t officially picked up the option, but they’re expected to do so in the near future.

An actual extension will likely come in the offseason but picking up the option now means that the Broncos won’t face losing Miller until after the 2015 season.

Per the Denver Post:

"The Broncos are likely to pick up the fifth-year team option on the contract of linebacker Von Miller.Exercising the fifth-year option would keep the pass-rushing strongside linebacker with the club — and away from free agency — through the 2015 season."

He may have very well been in line for a real extension had he not torn his ACL and thrown his season off with a suspension earlier in the year. Still, the former Texas A&M product seems poised to redeem himself in 2014 and that option could end up turning into an extension next offseason.
