Arizona Cardinals inside linebacker Daryl Washington was accused of breaking his ex-girlfriend’s collarbone in a domestic dispute last May. On Monday, Washington plead guilty to his aggravated assault charge stemming from that incident.

But what does that mean and what kind of punishment will it incorporate. According to Jess Root, managing editor/writer for SB Nation’s Cardinals blog titled Revenge of the Birds, Washington gets probation. If he successfully completes that probation, there will be no jail time for Washington. Sentencing won’t officially occur until April 23rd.

There could be more disciplinarty action for Washington from the league however. Washington missed the first four games stemming from a suspension for substance abuse violations.
