The free agent market for defensive ends hasn’t been as white hot as we thought it might be, although the market has indeed been active. With Red Bryant signing before free agency officially opened and DeMarcus Ware signing not long after bing cut, the market for pass rushers has been sporadic, if still active. One player looking for work still is Shaun Phillips, and the Tennessee Titans may be giving him what he desires rather soon.

Mike Garafolo from FOXSports then pointed out that the market for Phillips is actually starting to pick up.

The market is probably picking up because other, better pass rushers are already off the market. DeMarcus Ware stole Jared Allen’s job in Denver and Jared Allen was holding jobs hostage over Phillips, albeit indirectly.

Phillips showed he is still a force at times while he was with the Broncos, and if the Titans can add him as a pass rusher, they’ll be off and running heading into offseason workouts.
