The Washington Redskins haven’t made a ton of moves this offseason, but they made an in-house contract renewal on Thursday to pad their free agent haul — or thereof. While he’s hardly a rockstar name on the market, the Redskins have re-signed cornerback E.J. Biggers.

Bringing back Biggers isn’t a championship move, but it’s one that helps keep one of the only respectable aspects of the team intact, as the secondary managed to not completely and utterly implode in 2013.

He’s not a game changing defensive back by any means, but the continuity he brings to the defense in returning may prove valuable. The Redskins were still an all-around horrible team in 2013, with the second worst record in the league. But the secondary wasn’t all that bad, although it’s hard to say given the context.

There is room for improvement in 2014 and Biggers will be back to help in any way he can.
