Earlier on Friday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs were reported as not having a whole lot of interest in now free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson, but things have apparently changed in the short time between the latest report from Arrowhead and now.

While Terez Paylor never definitively stated the Chiefs weren’t interested in Jackson, 610 Sports in Kansas City is reporting that the Chiefs have indeed reached out to Jackson with likely interest in bringing him in.

Reaching out to Jackson doesn’t really mean there is legitimate interest as the Chiefs have obvious reasons for wanting to kick the tires on Jackson. Andy Reid drafted Jackson and may know his background better than others.

But the Chiefs have little money to splurge with and the supposed character issues may end up being too much for the Chiefs to want to deal with. There’s also a deep class at receiver this year, which means a much cheaper replacement could be found.
