NFL Rumors: Oakland Raiders, Maurice Jones-Drew close to getting deal done

The free agency saga of veteran running back Maurice Jones-Drew may soon be coming to an end as it’s being reported that he is very close to agreeing to a deal with the Oakland Raiders, a deal that could be completed very soon.

Earlier in the day on Thursday, it was let out that Jones-Drew would be spending both Thursday and Friday with Oakland, which was an immediate indication that this might be a little more than just a feeling-out visit.

As late as last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers were considered the front runner for the veteran’s services, however that talked died down a bit and they turned their attention to LeGarrette Blount.

The thought of Jones-Drew in the backfield in Oakland is appealing, as he would definitely lighten the load for Darren McFadden.

Assuming that both can stay healthy throughout the year, this is scary to think about.

I predict both Drew, after signing, and McFadden will run their tails off. Assuming we have an actual power blocking offensive line. The Autumn Wind cometh!

Louis Murphy was a wide receiver for us 3 seasons ago. You mean Latavius Murray…

Its a good deal if done cheaply we would have a full starting lineup of rb ready to play at a high level wouldnt matter who we started but dmc is the weapon to use against certain teams as a bigger playmaker we could compete well this year but we need just one star receiver to be a deadly blow on offense
