The New Orleans Saints know their time to win is right now, so if they see a player available that they feel could step in and make a difference, it’s possible they could make a move and trade up for him come the 2014 NFL Draft.

That’s the word from Mike Triplett who believes the Saints would be open to such a move if the right player was available.

"They’ve never been afraid to trade up in the draft. And they’re clearly in a win-now mode, as they showed with the Jairus Byrd signing in free agency. So if they do feel like they need a cornerback or receiver, I think they’d aggressively go up and get a guy that they want instead of hoping someone good falls to them"

Triplett does stress that by no stretch is this certain to happen, just that given the front office history it’s completely plausible they could attempt to trade up for the right player.

No specific player was named outside of the much needed positions of cornerback and wide receiver.
