The NFL Draft is right around the corner in May and while it’s hard to predict exactly what will happen and which panicked team will trade up and throw off everyone’s projections, we’re starting to get a decent idea of how things might go.

A lot can happen, but it appears that South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is a lock for the top 3 picks of the draft because he won’t be getting past the Jacksonville Jaguars who pick No. 3 overall. According to Jaguars beat writer Ryan O’Halloran from the Florida Union-Times, if Clowney is somehow on the board when the Jaguars go on the clock, Clowney is their man.

Per O’Halloran:

"If he’s available when the Jaguars are on the clock May 8. If Houston takes a quarterback and St. Louis an offensive tackle with the first two picks, the general feeling at the meetings was the Jaguars would draft Clowney at No. 3"

This makes a lot of sense with what we’ve been hearing int he months leading up to the draft. Jacksonville sneakily got better on defense in free agency, but they still covet a pass rusher and Clowney is one of the best in the country.

Some teams below the Jaguars were hoping he might slide, but it now appears clear that if you want Clowney this year, you better be on the phone with the Houston Texans and St. Louis Rams.
