Time is quickly running out for the Houston Texans to decide what they would like to do with the top overall pick in this May’s NFL Draft. Will they take a quarterback? Will they take Jadeveon Clowney? Will they even trade the pick?

All of the possibilities are still on the table, but if it was up to Jon Gruden who recently spent some time with top QB prospect Blake Bortles, he believes that they should look the way of taking the Fiesta Bowl MVP, because that’s what they need.

"“Houston needs the ‘Golden Knight,’ ” Gruden said, making a play on UCF’s “Knights” nickname and also on the idea that the Texansneed a quarterback savior."

Bortles’ stock has risen tremendously recently after he not only impressed scouts at the NFL Combine back in February, but his Pro Day a few weeks ago as well. He definitely separated himself from both Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater in a lot of peoples’ opinions, and he fits the prototypical Bill O’Brien type player under center.
