Johnny Manziel changed some scouts’ perception of him at this Pro Day last Thursday, as there were quite a few in attendance that came away rather impressed. But that doesn’t mean that everyone had their minds changed while Manziel was chased by George Whitfield with a broom.

Two NFL scouts recently called into a Houston radio station, the city with the team that holds the number one overall pick, and had some less-than-stellar words to say about Johnny Football.

Actually, they blasted him, with one calling him a third-day pick, while the other compared him to Robert Griffin III by saying that he’s not in the former Heisman winner’s class, according to NFL.com.

"Two NFL scouts contacted Houston radio host Lance Zierlein in the days following Manziel’s 64-throw workout on the TAMU campus last Thursday, one of which grades Manziel as a third-day pick(rounds 4-7) and suggested that Manziel doesn’t compare at all with Robert Griffin III as a draft prospect."

Saying that Manziel is a third-day pick might be stretching it a little bit, and comparing him to Griffin is almost like apples to oranges. There are doubts about whether or not Manziel can work out of the pocket, while we knew when RG3 was on his way into the NFL that the pocket was where he thrived.

Still, it’s very interesting to see all of these scouts have the most electrifying player ever in college football pegged in these different areas in the draft.
