The New York Jets have made some moves this offseason to improve their offense. They signed free-agent wide receiver Eric Decker to help in the receiving game, and then followed that up with signing Michael Vick to possibly take over under center for Geno Smith. Could the running back position be next?

According to Ian Rapoport, it might be as the team could be set to go after Tennessee Titans back Chris Johnson when he is released by the Titans as everyone expects will happen soon.

This would make sense as to why the Jets are more or less considered a wild card for DeSean Jackson like Rapoport says, and not a serious contender like the Raiders or Bills.

New York could use the help in the passing game, and when he is on his game, Johnson could catch the ball out of the backfield better than most and would be a great weapon to set up their newly re-vitalized passing game, as well as get the rushing numbers up a bit.

Johnson is expected to be released by the Titans some time before offseason training activities begin.
