Speaking with reporters at a charity basketball game over the weekend, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith discussed the recent criticisms directed at quarterback Joe Flacco, calling them unfounded.

Evidently, some reporters have been questioning Flacco’s leadership because the quarterback has not held private workouts with the Baltimore wide receivers this offseason. (Yup, that’s a huge crime right there. Flacco is basically a criminal.)

Here’s Smith:

"“You all [in the media] keep talking about this and [criticizing] Joe like he doesn’t want to get together or something like that,” Smith said Saturday at his charity basketball game. “We’ve been trying to figure it out, but people have to realize, [Kyle Juszczyk] is in school, Marlon [Brown] is in school. Steve [Smith] is still being a parent down there [Carolina]. [Dennis] Pitta is fine. Aaron [Mellette] isn’t all the way back yet. If we really go out there and throw, it’s going to be, Steve, Pitta and Jacoby. That’s it.”"

With an ungodly amount of time still to go until football season begins, expect plenty more instances of Media Member X blames Star Player Y for Perceived Infraction Z. It’ll be thrilling!
