Notre Dame Fighting Irish defensive end Stephon Tuitt was once seen as a highly touted prospect.

Tuitt recorded 7.5 sacks, but was more productive as a sophomore when he picked up 12 sacks (To his credit the 2012 squad was much better, finishing 12-0 in the regular season and playing for the national title).

Of course, a big part of Tuitt’s struggles were his lingering injuries that eventually wound up being a left foot fracture that kept Tuitt out of the scouting combine, obviously hurting his draft stock.

There are still plenty of teams very interested in Tuitt.

According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Tuitt worked out for the St. Louis Rams on Tuesday, will work out for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday and the New England Patriots on Thursday.

Anyone could use a big talented body like Tuitt along the defensive line, especially the Patriots, who old in the interior of their line and fairly small on the outside.
