The Washington Redskins weren’t about to let free agent wide receiver leave without a contract and that’s exactly what they were able to make happen late on Tuesday night. After meeting with Jackson earlier in the day, Washington agreed to terms on a three-year deal with Jackson that indeed made sure he didn’t leave without a contract.

According to Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk.com, not only has Jackson yet to officially ink the deal but when he does he’s expected to receive as much as $16 million guaranteed.

That’s a big chunk of coin considering how depressed the free agent market has been, but it’s a reflection of how good Jackson really is. It’s also a reflection of how willing Daniel Snyder was to overpay Jackson, which was a variable we forgot to factor in when considering the other teams that may swoop in and steal Jackson away from Washington.
