The New England Patriots have had a busy offseason.

They have made a couple of big deals, something that is abnormal for them.

They signed former New York Jets and Tampa Buccaneers’ cornerback Darrelle Revis, agreed to a deal with former Seattle Seahawks’ cornerback Brandon Browner and former Carolina Panthers’ wide receiver Brandon LaFell.

The team still needs some obvious upgrades. With the departure of Aaron Herandez last season and Rob Gronkowski, tight end is a spot where they could use help.

Wide receiver has been a need for some time. After losing LaGarrette Blount to the Pittsburgh Steelers, they could use a veteran running back and their need to upgrade their pass rush has been painfully obviously.

NESN’s Doug Kyed suggests a couple of “bargain free agents” that could fill these needs, including former Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears’ running back Michael Bush, who has taken a visit to the Patriots’ facility.

"Belichick seemingly did the impossibly by making LeGarrette Blount an effective short-yardage back in 2013. Perhaps Belichick could do the same with Bush, who caught 37 passes for 418 yards and one touchdown in 2011 with the Oakland Raiders. Other running back options: Felix Jones, Justin Forsett, Ronnie Brown"

He also suggest Owen Daniels, Miles Austin, Will Smith and James Anderson, among several others.
