The Dallas Cowboys finished up another season that didn’t live up to expectations, though given the injuries they had on the defensive side of the ball it could be looked at as impressive. Head coach Jason Garrett acknowledges that the injuries were a factor but is cautious with his words and wanting to clarify that it is not an excuse.

“You have to be careful when you talk about injuries to make it not feel like excuses,” Garrett said, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. “Injuries are a part of the game. There are no excuses. They have been a factor on our football team. But they have been a factor for a lot of teams.”

The Cowboys lost a lot of defensive stars this offseason with DeMarcus Ware signing with the Denver Broncos and Jason Hatcher going to the Washington Redskins, so they’ll be looking to fill holes again and have signed players like Henry Melton to fill the void.
