Not that it is any bit of a surprise, but the Tennessee Titans could end up giving soon-to-be released running back Chris Johnson a failing grade on the physical he’s slated to take for them on Friday.

The physical in of itself seems nothing more than procedural as Johnson’s release is inevitable at this point and passing or failing a physical will merely determine an official reason as to why he was cut.

It’s worth noting that the New York Jets failed Mark Sanchez on his physical just prior to his release over his injured shoulder not being healed. That gave the Jets an official reason to release him, although it was merely technical in nature.

The same will likely be the case for Johnson, as his knee he had repaired may red flag his physical with the Titans but won’t keep him out of a job with anyone else who wants him.
