The Minnesota Vikings are likely to select a quarterback at some point during the 2014 NFL Draft and it appears as if Zach Mettenberger of LSU is their top choice.

Rumors leaked earlier in the week that the Vikings had their eyes on Mettenberger and according to Draft Insider, Minnesota believes the LSU signal caller is a ‘perfect fit’ with offensive coordinator Norv Turner.

"Earlier this week I reported that insiders informed me the Minnesota Vikings hope to select one of the higher rated linebackers early in round one (Khalil Mack being their preference) then grab their quarterback in round two.  Zach Mettenberger being their signal caller of choice.  Since then more sources have confirmed my report, verifying the team is high on Mettenberger who they believe is a perfect fit for Norv Turner’s system."

Of course, it’s questionable if Mettenberger will be around come the Vikings second round selection, so Minnesota may need to get creative if they want to pick him up.

Mettenberger’s stock will likely rise or drop a bit depending on how he performs at his pro day.
