Veteran wide receiver Jason Avant isn’t exactly drawing massive interest in the free agent market, though a few teams have their eye on the wideout, one of them being the Carolina Panthers.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Avant will visit the Panthers on Monday afternoon.

"Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera said recently his team doesn’t necessarily need a No. 1 receiver. But the Panthers aren’t done looking at proven, complementary wideouts.Former Philadelphia Eagles receiver Jason Avant is scheduled to visit the Panthers on Monday, according to two league sources with knowledge of the situation."

In addition to the Panthers, the Kansas City Chiefs have been rumored to have interest in Avant though some of that likely stems from the fact that Avant played under current Chiefs head coach Andy Reid during their days with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Panthers are among the most wide receiver needy teams in the NFL so Avant would likely find a relatively large role with the Panthers, though, the money would likely need to be right as well.
