Richard Sherman looks to cash in on Crabtree incident with memorabilia sales
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman set the world aflame after his pass deflection led to an interception in their victory over Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers and subsequent postgame interview with Erin Andrews where he became an overnight sensation/villain.
His deflection that ultimately clinched the Seahawks trip to the Super Bowl where they defeated the Denver Broncos is Sherman’s signature moment in his potential Hall of Fame career to this point, and the All-Pro corner is looking to cash in on that moment.
Steve Costello, executive vice president of Steiner Sports Marketing and Memorabilia, and Sherman came up with the inscription of “Sorry Crabtree” for the photo which is both humorous and presents an extremely unique collectible.
"“No photos with the “Sorry Crabtree” inscription are in the hands of the public, Costello tells Matt Maiocco CSN Bay Area. In the next week or so, those autographed photos – along with prints of Sherman asking New England quarterback Tom Brady, “U mad bro?” – could be available at SteinerSports.com.”"
Costello says the four or five photos with this inscription could be made available in fan-appreciation contests through social media, so follow Steiner Sports on Twitter if you’re interested in getting this rare collectible.
