While it was made known late last week that the Tennessee Titans would be releasing running back Chris Johnson, the move would not become official until everything cleared on Monday, and according to Ian Rapoport, that’s exactly what has happened and now the veteran is officially a free agent.

Coming into the offseason, this move was expected to take place as Johnson’s production has dropped off tremendously in the past few seasons, and his work ethic has also been called into question.

As far as potential suitors, early word is that the St. Louis Rams, New York Giants and New York Jets could be interested in Johnson’s services, but at what price tag remains to be seen.

Johnson should have visits lined up soon with some of the teams that are showing interest, and it should not be long before he finds a new home because the team will want to get him in ASAP with training activities coming up.
