The Los Angles Lakers are all about thinking of their future at the moment and that’s something that fans haven’t had to do in a while. Heck, the Lakers haven’t themselves had to ponder the future since Kobe Bryant came to town but they’re going to be spending the offseason hunting for tools that can help them win regardless of if Kobe is on the court or not.

One name that had been floated in the past but seems to be once again gaining traction is Cleveland Cavaliers forward Luol Deng. It was rumored that the Lakers could be interested in him at the February trade deadline but no move was made.

Deng hits the free agent market this summer and USA Today’s Sam Amick reports that Deng is very much on the Lakers’ radar.

Per USA Today’s Sam Amick:

"“Another possibility is Luol Deng, currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers. … he has not entirely ruled out going back to Cleveland but he’ll be a free agent this summer and is definitely on the Lakers radar."

It’s unlikely that Deng returns to the Cavaliers, especially since he’s in a ‘win-now’ part of his career. That would seemingly deter him from going to the rebuilding Lakers as well, but it’s growing clear that Deng’s offseason will be one to watch.
