In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have not made it a secret that they’re in the market for a quarterback. Head coach Mike Zimmer has recently met with Johnny Manziel, but that doesn’t mean the team could use their top 10 pick in the first round on a signal caller. They may wait until the second round, and on Wednesday they’ll meet with one of the fastest rising potential second round prospects, LSU QB Zach Mettenberger.
LSU QB Zach Mettenberger met/will meet with the Raiders and Patriots today, will meet with the Vikings tomorrow. Throws tomorrow too.

After what has been described as a speedy recovery from the knee injury that he suffered in the final regular season game last year against Arkansas, Mettenberger has been quickly rising up the boards, mainly as someone teams don’t see as an immediate starter, rather someone that can be groomed to eventually take the reins of a team down the road.
With the inconsistent quarterback situation in Minnesota though, if they were to take Mettenberger, he might see the field sooner rather than later.
