NFL Draft 2014: Zach Mettenberger to throw on Wednesday for Minnesota Vikings

In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have not made it a secret that they’re in the market for a quarterback. Head coach Mike Zimmer has recently met with Johnny Manziel, but that doesn’t mean the team could use their top 10 pick in the first round on a signal caller. They may wait until the second round, and on Wednesday they’ll meet with one of the fastest rising potential second round prospects, LSU QB Zach Mettenberger.

After what has been described as a speedy recovery from the knee injury that he suffered in the final regular season game last year against Arkansas, Mettenberger has been quickly rising up the boards, mainly as someone teams don’t see as an immediate starter, rather someone that can be groomed to eventually take the reins of a team down the road.

With the inconsistent quarterback situation in Minnesota though, if they were to take Mettenberger, he might see the field sooner rather than later.

Here’s what’s gonna happen the Viks will prolly end up not even get a QB in the draft cause they will go D with#8 and watch Mettenburger,Carr, Grappolo and McCarron are gone then they end up all defense except for a guard and a RB. I wouldn’t be surprised if all these guys get taken right away by the teams that passed on a QB in the 1st so I say we better get our guy at 8 cause all the good D players will be gone anyways
