The Detroit Lions are looking at their NFL Draft strategy and are thinking very hard about what to do. Really, there are only three options you can consider: trading down, staying put and seeing what falls to you or trading up. After meeting with Clemson standout Sammy Watkins and looking at their position in the draft, many are starting to believe that the option the Lions go with is the latter.

Per PFT.com:

"Sammy Watkins, widely regarded as the best receiver in this year’s draft class, has visited Detroit, and there’s talk that the Lions are interested in trading up in the draft to acquire him. Watkins has heard that talk and likes the sound of it."

It’s very clear that Watkins may not even make it past the No. 2 overall pick as the Rams could take him or trade down with a team that wants Watkins bad. There’s no saying that team won’t be the Lions but there’s also no guarantee that they’ll be moving up.

Still, the idea of having Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, Joique Bell and Sammy Watkins on the same offense may be too appealing to pass up.
