NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers won’t consult with Kobe Bryant
Now that the Los Angeles Lakers ‘ season is finally coming to close, it is time for them to evaluate all of their free agents, come up with possible scenarios where they could net a star either via free agency or trade and begin narrowing down their choices in the 2044 Draft where they will be picing in the lottery.
Many around the league believe this is a process future Hall-of-Fame guard Kobe Bryant will be a part of.
After all, back in November, Bryant agreed to a two-year, $48.5 million deal. With that kind of investment, the team obviously values what he can bring to the table both on and off of the court.
However, Lakers’ general manager Mitch Kupchak says the team will not consult with Bryant.
“We won’t consult with him,”. Kupchak told Sam Amick of The USA Today. “Our decisions going forward — we’re not going to do knee-jerk stuff. We’ll let the season end, and take some time. We’ve got a lot of injuries and surgeries to sort through. That’s a lot to accomplish. We have the draft coming up.”
Bryant will be 36 in August.
