NFL Draft 2014: Oakland Raiders interested in Zach Mettenberger

The last time the Oakland Raiders spent a high draft pick on an LSU quarterback, it was the highest draft pick possible and he turned out to be one of the biggest busts ever. Now that the Raiders seem to be in the market for a quarterback again, another LSU quarterback is on their radar and they’re doing their homework this time around.

According to NFL Network’s Albert Breer, the Oakland Raiders have met with Zach Mettenbeger and have clear interest in drafting him.

It’s unclear how interested the Raiders are in Mettenberger but there is obviously a decent amount if they called him in for a meeting. Aside from the most talked about names at the top of the drag,t Mettenberger is emerging as one of the hottest names in his class.

That can all change, but it’s starting to look like teams that pass on a quarterback with their first pick will be gunning for Mettenberger with their second.

Agreed taking any QB in this draft that high just don’t feel right.

We have wasted two draft picks on out of date QB’s, and one draft pick on QB that didn’t even make the team! That’s three potential player that we could have had on the roster. I don’t believe McKenzie truly has an eye for talent, at least he’s proved he doesn’t when it comes to QB’s . Just say NO to QB in 2014, and wait for Mariota or another QB of future to come!
