The Houston Texans are trying to figure out what to do with their number one overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. If it were up to former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, he’d take Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel instead of someone like South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

“I think Manziel is a Russell Wilson-type player,” Staubach said Wednesday in an interview with NFL AM on the NFL Network.”He doesn’t have the height, he has a strong arm, he throws with accuracy.”

“I just think there’s something about this kid … the quickness,” added Staubach. “I think Manziel is going to be a valuable player in the NFL.”

Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and current analyst Ron Jaworski had him going a little later, in the third round to be exact. For the Texans Manziel fills a need at the position and would be a marketing opportunity with the Texas A&M connection.
