The NFL is about to give berth to the career of another member of the Carr family this May but there may not be a big family reunion in store. While Derek Carr’s draft status remains uncertain, so too does the future of his brother David, as rather than focusing pairing up with his brother, the elder Carr is just looking for work.

A former No. 1 overall draft pick in 2002, David Carr has bounced around the NFL and despite carrying the tag of ‘draft bust’, he’s been able to find work consistently for over a decade. With his younger brother coming into the NFL, David Carr just wants to find a new job and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that could come before the NFL Draft takes place.

It’s still possible that the Carr brothers end up on the same team but it seems as though it will now be only through coincidence rather than design. David’s starting days are long behind him but the fact that he’s still worthy of an NFL roster spot 12 years after being drafted is a badge of honor you can’t ignore.
