The Washington Redskins are always seemingly in need of wide receiver help (even though they now have DeSean Jackson), which is why they’ve likely shown some interest in Austin Collie.

The veteran wideout, who last season found himself on the rosters of the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots has a lengthy injury history but continues to look for work.

Might that be with the Redskins who worked the 29-year-old out?

"WR Austin Collie had tryout with the Redskins."

Collie isn’t anything like the player he once was with the Indianapolis Colts when he was tearing up opposing defenses with Peyton Manning, but he can still play and would come at a bargain price.

Of course, with Collie you always have to worry about injury risk, especially given how many concussions the wideout has had during his NFL career.

Collie did show he still had the necessary skills to play with the Patriots, hauling in four catches for nearly 60 yards during the AFC Championship game, so the Redskins could certainly do worse.
