The San Francisco 49ers are waking up to news they are not excited to deal with as franchise quarterback Colin Kaepernick is involved in a sexual assault investigation in Miami. News broke early Thursday that the Niners quarterback was being investigated in a sexual assault case, and while he’s not been charged with anything nor has he been arrested, the situation is one that many are paying close attention to.

After hearing of the investigation, the 49ers released a statement in which they said they were still gathering facts and weren’t rushing to a decision on what comes next.

In the infant stages of this story, it’s impossible to say what Kaepernick did or didn’t do and it’s advisable to not rush to judgement. Unlike the Ray Rice case, there is no concrete evidence of anything happening but should such a thing surface, this could be the start of a bad summer for the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick and the continuation of one of the NFL.
