Carmelo Anthony will be a highly-sought after player if he exercises an early-termination clause to test free agency and despite Phil Jackson saying he wants Anthony to be in the future plans for the New York Knicks, it remains to be seen if that feeling is mutual.

One team who has been mentioned as a potential suitor for the 29-year-old small forward is the Chicago Bulls, although they will have some serious shuffling to do to the roster to accommodate his salary, and Anthony commented on what makes the Bulls so good and attractive for free agents.

Losing Derrick Rose to another season-ending knee injury and the trading of Luol Deng had many believing the Bulls would be lottery-bound, but under the guidance of Tom Thibodeau, who should be the NBA’s Coach of the Year, and the play of Joakim Noah, the Bulls are in the third spot in the Eastern Conference.

Anthony can receive more money from the Knicks who can offer him $129 million dollars over five years in a max deal compared to other teams who would only be allowed to offer him a four-year deal worth $96 million.

However, maybe sacrificing the $33 million dollars and the extra year he’d leave on the table would be worth it for a much better chance to win an NBA championship with the Bulls.
