The Philadelphia Eagles sent a strong message by releasing wide receiver DeSean Jackson after a career year. Running back LeSean McCoy said the message is clear and will make players straighten out.

“I don’t know,” McCoy said, Philly Mag “You know that nobody’s safe in this game as far as being here forever,” McCoy said, via Philly Mag. “But then you feel like alright well I’ve established myself so much, I did so much. [But] anybody can go. So I think it just makes you straighten up a little bit more. Maybe things that you think that you can get away with, you can’t. And that’s how it is. It’s the NFL. And the best thing about it is he has a job and 32 teams will take you if one don’t.”

There were reports that Jackson blew off his end of season exit interview with head coach Chip Kelly as well as allegations of gang connections.
