NFL Draft Rumors: Teddy Bridgewater working out for Minnesota Vikings

It was originally reported that former Louisville Cardinals’ quarterback Teddy Bridgewater would be working out for the Minnesota Vikings next week.

The Vikings are doing their due diligence at the position because 2011 first round pick Christian Ponder has not worked out and veteran Matt Cassel is nothing more than a stopgap.

The Vikings could take a quarterback with the eighth overall pick or could even trade back into the first round, like they did last season, to pick one up. Either way, the Vikings are expected to pick a quarterback at some point fairly early in next month’s draft.

They are obviously anxious to get a look at Bridgewater because they have moved his workout up.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings are now working out Bridewater on Saturday.

Bridgewater entered the draft process widely considered as the top quarterback prospect. However, a supposedly poor Pro Day and “shaky” workouts have really hurt Bridgewater’s stock.

Hes a risky pick if they do end up taking him. He is talented with all the tools to succeed, but his poor work ethic will hurt him… be cautious while picking the future of our franchise

Poor work ethic? Bridgewater is one of the hardest working prospects and he is quiet and doesn’t get in trouble. Please explain further with that comment…

judging by the combine, his pro day and all private workouts , he has an issue somewhere because he is stinking.it up.. he also scored a 20 on his wonderlic test..meaning poor preparation which is due to his work ethic …. he has what it takes,as I stated before, but I hope if they pick him he isn’t the guy that thinks he’s bigger than the game

The Wonderlic is a joke. If Bridgewater were busy on a footall feild instead of studying for the test I would be much more impressed. And his Pro Day wasnt a choreographed skit like Manziel’s was. All that matters to me is what a player does in a Game… and nothing has changed with that, Bridgewater is still the most Pro ready QB in this draft. So the more pointless crap that comes out that makes hist draft stock lower so he will fall to #8, the happier we should all be. I’m really not high on Manziel, running QBs get hurt too often at the NFL level… look at RG3… best running QB in college football and now… Injured badly a couple times already.
