Sunday afternoon, reports began to surface that troubled San Francisco 49ers star Aldon Smith had been detained by police inside a Los Angeles airport for an undisclosed reason.

Now that folks over at TMZ Sports are reporting that Smith was detained for allegedly yelling “bomb” and they were even provided with photo evidence of his arrest which you can see below.

Whether or not that was the reason Smith was nabbed is not officially known at this time, but that would be rather unfortunate and would unnecessarily add to Smith’s troubles which were brought to light last season when he was arrested for DUI and then took a leave of absence to enter a rehab facility.

Also, this has not been a great offseason for the 49ers as just this past week, Colin Kaepernick’s name was brought up in a story linking him and a few others to an incident at a Miami hotel in which the words “sexual assault” were tossed around.

We’ll have more as this situation with Smith develops.
