Dan Gronkowski, one of the brothers of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, was participate in the 2014 Super Regional Combine at Ford Field in Detriot, Michigan, but his workout came to a quick end after suffering a serious injury on Saturday.

During the first day of the combine, Gronkowski was performing on the bench press when he suffered a torn pectoral.

Albert Breer of the NFL Network passed along the news.

It is an unfortunate injury for Gronkowski, who earned his invitation to the super regional scouting combine after an impressive workout earlier in the offseason in the Miami regional combine, and it may have ruined his final shot at sticking in the league.

The other Gronkowski brother, Chris, was unable to participate after a hamstring injury during the 40-yard dash at the Miami regional combine, while Rob Gronkowski is recovering from a torn MCL and ACL.

These guys sure have had bad luck with their injuries.
