Earlier on Sunday, word began to spread about an unnamed NFL scouting director who called top defensive end prospect Jadeveon Clowney lazy and stated that he never had to work hard a day in his life.
Now, according to NJ.com, it appears that his wrath is just not limited to Clowney, rather he doesn’t think much of this year’s defensive line class at all.
"“It’s a bad year,” he said, according to nj.com. “It’s the worst group I’ve seen in a long time.”"
Realistically, the criticism of Clowney personally isn’t shocking, however trashing the entire defensive class is.
Aside from the South Carolina star, you have some prospects who have been receiving some high praise such as Kony Ealy, Timmy Jernigan, Dee Ford and a host of others that have worked their way through the college ranks and are now seeking a long career in the National Football League.
Of course, as is the case every year, we’ll have to wait until these guys hit the field at the highest level for a few years before we can cast any judgement.
