NFL Draft season is in full swing, which means it is the perfect time for teams to start throwing up smoke screens and talking down prospects that they hope will fall to the in the draft. The latest victim is South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

According to Mark Eckel of NJ.com, there is an unnamed NFC personnel executive who went on a rant about Clowney and gave a less than flattering review.

He’s spoiled, and he’s lazy,’’ the unnamed exec said.  “He’s never worked hard a day in his life, now all of a sudden you’re going to give him a bunch of money and expect him to work hard.  I don’t see it.

“Oh, he’s going to be a high pick. Some team will fall in love with him.  But wait and see, just wait and see.  I just don’t think you can count on him.  I’m betting the under on him.’’

This won’t be the last criticism we see about Clowney, so get used to reading them.

The go-to knock on Clowney’s game has always been to question his work ethic, but the fact is he’s an incredible talent and one of the best defensive prospects we have had entering a draft in the past decade.

An executive without a name won’t change that.
