Although you never know for sure how someone can turn things around, right now the future for the San Francisco 49ers and defensive end Aldon Smith does not look good at all following the latest incident he was involved in where he claimed to have a bomb inside LAX.

Therefore, there’s a strong possibility that, in the NFL Draft next month, head coach Jim Harbaugh and the Niners could be looking for Smith’s potential replacement, and according to NFL.com, they could be doing just that by targeting Boise State defensive end Demarcus Lawrence.

"One player who could be in the mix for the club in the first round is Boise State defensive end Demarcus Lawrence. The draft doesn’t have a ton of high-end edge rushers, but Lawrence has a case that he’s right there with a group of players who could go late on the first day like Kony Ealy and Dee Ford."

This could actually hold more weight than just being a rumor as Lawrence is schedule to meet with the team some time next week.

With the uncertainty surrounding Smith at this time, this is not a bad idea by any means.
