The players on the PGA Tour are not known to be comedians, but that is because they are usually seen performing in a sport that takes extreme focus. Off the course, they know how to kick back and use Twitter to make fun of each other.
Englishman Ian Poulter has an insanely good Twitter game with 1.63 million followers. He frequently interacts with fans on Twitter, and gives great updates about his life on the PGA Tour.
Fellow Englishman Lee Westwood is a gentleman golfer, but he could not resist teasing Poulter about his wardrobe:
Has @IanJamesPoulter not got over my first day shirt yet! this from a man that once went out in public like this! pic.twitter.com/hPvEOXwvfU
— Lee Westwood (@WestwoodLee) April 15, 2014
Poulter responded by telling the truth:
Great outfit until it was 100 degrees in India and that gold shirt didn't breath. Niagara Falls running down me ass.@WestwoodLee
— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) April 15, 2014
And so began a Twitter war between the two blokes with the help of fans around the world (Tweets were selectively edited for the best smack downs):
Hahaha
