Move over, Old Man Strength; Old Man Speed is here.

Former Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Raiders wide receiver Willie Gault, age 53, recently told TMZ he believes only a handful of current NFL players could beat him in a sprint, citing Chris Johnson and Trindon Holliday as two of the likeliest candidates. However, when it comes to Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson, Gault believes the 27-year-old wouldn’t have a shot.

For those unaware, Gault holds world records in the 45-49 and 50-54 age groups in both the 100 and 200 meters, so his Old Man Speed is no joke. But could he actually beat Jackson, one of the fastest players in the NFL? Who knows. But hey, considering Devin Hester and Chris Johnson raced a freakin’ cheetah as a stunt last year, I see no reason we can’t set up a race between Jackson and Gault.

Let the generational warfare begin!
