Carmelo Anthony may have played his last game with the New York Knicks.

According to the twitter account of the Knicks’ PR department, Anthony has a small tear to his labrum and will sit out the Knicks’ final two games.

With the Knicks eliminated from playoff contention, there is really no reason to play Anthony any more this season. The Knicks are still the favorite to keep Anthony, especially with the addition of Phil Jackson, which Anthony referred to as “a big play.”

Anthony will be the talk of New York for the next few months because he can become a free agent and test the open market for the first time in his career.

He is expected to have several suitors, including the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony averaged 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season.
