There was a time that Brett Favre was the Green Bay Packers. Of course, that time came to a less than happy ending as Favre was traded to the New York Jets and a rift between the two sides began, especially on Favre’s side who has admitted to creating the bad blood.

But with passed time comes calmer emotions and the Packers, well known for paying homage to their former greats, wanted to honor Favre during the 2013 season. Unfortunately Favre’s schedule wouldn’t allow such as Oak Grove High School, where the former Packers quarterback was working as a offensive coordinator, just kept winning and Favre understandably couldn’t miss their games.

Per Packers president Mark Murphy:

"Brett Favre’s reunion with the Green Bay Packers was supposed to happen last season, but the high school football team he helped coach got in the way.“We wanted to have him come back to a game last year, and his team kept winning and winning, so it kind of made it tough to find a time where it worked.”"

Favre reportedly isn’t returning to Oak Grove this season so hopefully the schedules will pair better and the Packers can honor their legendary quarterback.
