It was rumored that on Tuesday, free agent quarterbacks Matt Flynn and Josh Freeman would work out for the New York Giants. Such a workout with Freeman is expected to happen, but the reported workout with Flynn will not happen according to Jordan Raanan.
Hold the horses on QB Matt Flynn visiting
#giants today. Doesn’t appear to be happening, per sources.
Why Flynn is not working out is unknown. It’s possibly something as small as a scheduling conflict, though one would think Flynn, in need of a job, would do what he could to attend such a workout.
It’s also possible that an invite was never extended to Flynn and the rumor mill was incorrect. Whatever the case may be, Flynn will not be throwing for the Giants alongside Freeman as initially reported a few days ago.
Few teams have shown interest in the former LSU signal caller, so it’s possible the veteran may end up returning to the Green Bay Packers in a backup capacity given his familiarity with the playbook.
