On Wednesday, free agent wide receiver Sidney Rice was in the Big Apple visiting with the New York Jets, just hours after they signed free-agent running back Chris Johnson. It seemed logical for Rice to throw his attributes into the mix as well, but that won’t be happening as he has agreed to terms to return to the Seattle Seahawks.

It was first just a report that he had re-signed with the Super Bowl champs after they released him in February, however Rice then confirmed the deal by taking to Instagram and announce that he’s, “coming home.”

Rice missed last season’s run to the Super Bowl championship after half of his year was derailed by a knee injury. Just this past week, doctors cleared Rice to return to football activities, and it was only a matter of time before he was able to land a deal with someone.

With Golden Tate now gone, adding Rice back into the mix once again is a huge coup, especially while the team may be looking for some more weapons in the draft that Rice can now help mentor along the way.
