The Cleveland Cavaliers were embroiled in some controversy this season as it was reported that things were being said behind the scenes that hinted at utter destruction in the near future. But as casual fans perched themselves as though they were paparazzi looking to snap a picture of Jennifer Lawrence in the nude, it turns out there was a lot of smoke but no fire.

In fact, the two most talked about players — Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters — are making it sound as though all of the smoke was just coming out of a machine and was related in no way to a fire. They’re doing this by banding together to stand behind head coach Mike Brown and endorse him to return in 2014-15.

Waiters’ endorsement carries more weight as he had been the most vocal about his displeasure with Brown during the season. But with the two stars of the Cavs banding together, perhaps the situation was overblown and we all need to find another NBA tree to perch ourselves in if we’re looking for drama.
