Now two years into his three year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, Steve Nash has played in just 65 of 164 possible regular season games.

Riddled with injuries, Nash has been extremely limited even when on the court but the former Santa Clara product says he’s getting better and is only three to four weeks away from being ‘healthy’.

"Steve Nash says he is 3-4 weeks from being healthy."

While that’s a nice suggestion, there’s little reason to believe Nash will ever be ‘healthy’ again at the NBA level as the game is simply too much of a grind. Nash has dealt with back problems dating to his tenure with the Phoenix Suns and they’ve only progressed with age, so expecting them to not resurface again is extremely unlikely.

Hopefully in that three to four week time span Nash will be healthy enough to enjoy life however as the two-time NBA MVP has been a hobbled mess for quite some time.

With one-year remaining on his contract, the Lakers could opt to use the ‘stretch provision’ to remove Nash from their salary cap but the team is not currently expected to do so.
